We have purchased and installed two long-lasting low-maintenance benches and installed them in public areas where they offer attractive views of nature.

One of the benches can be found at the Midtown Restoration Site (formerly known as the Tri-W site) and the other can be found at the Pasadena Drive Coastal Access in Baywood Park.

The Midtown site bench features a quote from William Wordsworth, “Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher.”

A plaque on the Pasadena Drive bench is dedicated to Bill Morem, long-time Tribune journalist and Baywood Park resident, with an ee cummings quote, “The world is mud-luscious and puddle-wonderful.”

Attending at the Pasadena Drive site were representatives from The Tribune and members of Bill Morem’s family.

These benches, made of Ipe wood, recycled glass, and concrete, were built by local concrete artist Mayson Wells.

Part of the 2016 County Infrastructure/Beautification grant that CLO received paid for the benches.

The benches were unveiled on March 4, 2017.
